What is Keywords Match Types In Google Adwords?

Keyword match types are parameters of words or phrase that can be set on your keywords to show your ads to the relevant customer and protect your cost from irrelevant keywords.

Keyword match types are used for showing your ads to that type of customer which has an interest in your services and find out the relevant a customer whose keyword is related to your keywords in the same manner that you want.
In short, you can say that keyword matches type control your searches and save your cost.

There are four types of keyword match which are used in Google ads
·         Broad Match
·         Phrase Match (“”)
·         Broad Modifier Match ( +)
·         Exact Match ([])

How Keywords match type works

1.       Broad Match Type


Broad match is the default match type that all your keywords are assigned without any sign or symbols. If you are using this match type then your ads will appear on searches page when anybody writes misspellings, synonyms, related searches, and other relevant variations like a keyword that you are using.
Example Sport Bike as a broad match keyword would match to any search terms that mentioned bikes, sport, or any synonyms or related terms as determined by Google ads.

2.       Broad Modifier Match ( +)

In a broad modifier match keyword, you need to add a plus sign in front of any or all words in your keyword.  No need to put plus sign before every keyword you should use plus sign those words that type of searches you want which is related to your services. When you add plus sign before any keyword it will only match to search query that contains your words.
It helps control when your ad can appear for closely related keywords on the search page. Your ads will appear only when the customer’s search keyword match with your keyword but all words that have plus sign must come in search terms in any manner or anywhere of the search keyword.

3.       Phrase Match Type ("")

Phrase match helps control when your ad appears for exact related keywords with some more information before or after the keyword that you are using in phrase match. Your ad will only appear when a user queries match to your keywords in the exact order you enter them, but there might be other words either before or after that phrase.

4.       Exact Match Type ([ ])
Your ads will appear to customers when they are searching for your exact keyword, or close variants of your exact keyword. In the exact match type Close variants include searches for keywords with the same meaning as the exact keywords.  Your ads will appear when your keyword is an exact match with the customer’s keyword or when the meaning of someone’s search matches the meaning of your keyword.
